Student Profile

In accordance with the provisions of Art. 2.1.a) of Royal Decree 775/2011 of 3 June, approving the regulations of Law 34/2006 of 30 October, on access to the professions of lawyer and solicitor of the courts, the profile for being admitted into the Master's Degree in Law programme corresponds to the Bachelor of Law, Degree in Law or other equivalent university degree that meets the requirements set out in Article 3 of Royal Decree 775/2011. According to this precept, the degrees referred to in the letter a) of Article 2 must demonstrate the acquisition of the following legal skills:

  1. Know and understand the elements, structure, resources, interpretation, and application of legislature and interpret the sources and basic legal concepts of each of the different legal systems.
  2. Know and understand the mechanisms and procedures for the resolution of legal disputes and the legal position of individuals in their dealings with the government and the authorities in general.
  3. Understand and know how to apply the criteria of priority sources to determine the rules applicable in each case, in accordance with the special rules, principles, and constitutional values.
  4. Interpret legal texts from an interdisciplinary perspective using legal principles and social and ethical values and principles as analytical tools.
  5. Deliver a compelling legal argument on a theoretical question relating to various legal matters.
  6. Solve case studies in accordance with the current positive law, which involves developing material beforehand, identifying problem areas, the selection, and interpretation of the applicable positive law and the exhibition of the subsumption.
  7. Manage legal language and terminology of the different branches of law with skill and precision: write orderly and understandable legal documents. Communicate legal ideas, arguments, and reasoning orally and in writing, using the appropriate records in each context.
  8. Use information and communication technology for searching and obtaining legal information (databases of legislation, case law, literature, etc.), as well as work tools and media.

Before initiating the pre-enrollment, verify that you meet the admission requirements in the master in which you have interest and consult the documents necessary for pre-registration.

 

In accordance with the provisions of the Academic Regulations for Official University Degrees and Master’s Degrees from the University of Lleida, Law 34/2006, on the access to the professions of lawyer and solicitor and Royal Decree 775/2011, approving the regulations of Law 34/2006, the ways to access the Master’s Degree are:

Access to official university master’s degrees is in accordance with Royal Decree 822/2021, of 28 September

Roads Observations

1) Spanish bachelor/master's degree or equivalent

 
5) Unfinished Spanish bachelor’s degree studies
  • at most TFG (bachelor’s degree final project) and 9 ECTS credits.

  • Exceptionally, access to the master’s degree may be accepted, with conditional enrolment, for students with credits of a Spanish degree still outstanding (maximun TFG and of 9 ECTS credits.  This will only be possible if, at the end of the second or subsequent pre-registration periods, if applicable, there are vacancies once all the students with the completed degree have been enrolled..

Candidate selection criteria

Maximum number of 22 students.

If the number of applicants that want to take the master’s degree is higher than the number of spaces available, the Master’s Degree Education Committee will hold a student selection process that will decide who will take the course. This process is based on:

  1. The average mark of the student record as it appears in the official transcript.
  2. In the event that two or more students have the same qualification, a case study will be carried out.

In the case of students with special educational needs due to disability, the system and admission procedure will include a counselling service and appropriate evaluation to assess the need for possible mobility, itinerary adjustments, or alternative studies. Therefore, the UdLxTothom unit (UdL for all) will asses the situation, with the aim of promoting higher education and encouraging the participation of people who have a disability in our university.
